Dhaka, Sept. 27 -- Prime Minister Tarique Rahman has made a stopover in Dubai en route to Dhaka from New York.

The Emirates flight landed at Dubai International Airport at 8:23pm local time on Saturday, Prime Minister's Deputy Press Secretary Hasan Shiplu said.

Tarique is travelling with his wife Zubaida Rahman, and other members of the delegation, Shiplu said.

"The flight will halt in Dubai for six hours. It will depart for Dhaka at 2am local time," he added.

The premier left John F Kennedy International Airport at 11:30pm local time on Friday.

He arrived in New York on Sept 21 on a Turkish Airlines flight to attend the 81st session of the UN General Assembly.
