Dhaka, May 20 -- Prime Minister Tarique Rahman laid the foundation stone for the National Disaster Management Research and Training Institute building in Gazipur.

The prime minister attended the event at the Sataish Chowrasta in Gazipur's Dharpara at 2pm on Wednesday.

Disaster Management and Relief Minister Asadul Habib Dulu, State Minister for Disaster Management M Iqbal Hossain and Secretary Saidur Rahman Khan and other officials were present for the occasion.

After laying the foundation stone, Tarique released fish fry in the pond on the institute premises and planted a tree.

The institute will be built on about eight acres of land near Dharpara. There will also be an administrative building and a residential building for trainees....
