Dhaka, April 16 -- A commemorative plaque naming the main entrance of the parliament building as "Gen MAG Osmani Gate" has been installed.

The large maroon signboard, featuring the name in white lettering, now marks the primary access point used by members of parliament to enter the premises.

Nahid Parvez, executive engineer of Sher-e-Bangla Nagar Division-1 under the Public Works Department, told bdnews24.com that the plaque was fitted on Wednesday night following orders from the Parliament Secretariat.

He noted that the installation work was completed overnight, officially renaming the entrance in honour of the military leader.
