Dhaka, April 3 -- An eight-month-old infant with measles symptoms has died at Kushtia Medical College Hospital, prompting complaints of by on-duty doctors and nurses by the family.

The infant, identified as Afran, breathed his last around 5:30am on Friday, said the hospital's deputy director, HM Anwarul Islam.

This is the second death from the highly contagious airborne disease in the district, confirms the civil surgeon's office.

Afran was the son of Al Amin, a resident of Bhadalia village in the district's Sadar Upazila.

Anwarul said the child's condition had been critical since his admission to the hospital on Mar 26.
