Dhaka, May 12 -- Former state minister for information and communication technology Zunaid Ahmed Palak has suffered injuries to his neck and waist in a prison van accident, his lawyer Tarikul Islam has said.

On Tuesday, the lawyer said an MRI scan found displacement in three vertebrae in Palak's lower back and complications in two vertebrae in his neck.

He said the report showed displacement in the L-2, L-3 and L-4 vertebrae.

"There are also complications in two areas of the neck. Problems were found in the discs between C5-C6 and C6-C7," Tarikul added.

Earlier, on Apr 28, Palak's lawyer Farzana Yasmin Rakhi claimed that he was injured on Apr 19 while being taken back to prison after a hearing at the International Crimes Tribunal.
