Dhaka, Sept. 18 -- Pakistan military spokesperson says it will go "to any extent" to defend Saudi Arabia against attacks, as escalating Houthi strikes test new collective defence agreement, Arab News reports.

The assurance came on Thursday after a series of missile and drone attacks by Yemen's Iran-aligned Houthis on Saudi targets.

Falling debris from an intercepted drone killed one person and injured two in Taif, while more than 80 people have been wounded in recent attacks, according to Arab News.

The Saudi-led coalition fighting the Houthis in Yemen also said it intercepted a Houthi drone heading towards restricted airspace around Makkah.
