Padma River water level may rise for five days, says flood forecast centre
Bangladesh, July 4 -- Water levels in Bangladesh's major rivers remain below danger marks, but the Padma is expected to rise over the next five days, the Flood Forecasting and Warning Centre (FFWC) has forecast.
In its regular bulletin issued on Saturday, the centre said the Ganges recorded a rise in water level over the past 24 hours, while the Padma remained stable.
The forecast said the Padma's water level may continue to increase over the next five days.
The Ganges is expected to rise over the next two days before remaining stable for the following three days.
However, water levels in both the Ganges and the Padma are expected to remain below danger level throughout the forecast period.
