Dhaka, June 28 -- Opposition lawmakers have walked out of parliament after they were not allowed to raise points of order at the end of the day's sitting.

The incident took place on Sunday, during the budget discussion.

The final speaker in the budget discussion was Local Government, Rural Development and Cooperatives Minister Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir.

After his speech, two bills were introduced under the supplementary agenda: the Bangladesh Medical University (Second Amendment) Bill, 2026 and the Public Examinations Offences (Amendment) Bill, 2026.

As the Bangladesh Medical University bill was tabled, opposition members objected, saying they had not received copies of the proposed legislation in advance.
