Dhaka, March 1 -- A Bangladeshi national is among three individuals killed in the United Arab Emirates following a wave of retaliatory drone strikes launched by Iran, the UAE Ministry of Defence has confirmed.

In a statement posted on social media platform X on Sunday, the ministry detailed the scale of the Iranian offensive and the resulting casualties.

According to the statement, UAE forces detected 541 drones launched from Iran.

While 506 of the unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) were successfully intercepted and destroyed, 35 drones struck different targets across the country.

"The incidents resulted in three fatalities of Pakistani, Nepali and Bangladeshi nationalities," the ministry said.
