Bangladesh, July 8 -- A National Citizen Party (NCP) leader has been killed in a road accident in Chattogram.

The accident occurred on the Muradpur-Lalkhan Bazar Flyover's GEC section.

The deceased has been identified as Faiyaz Tazrian, a member of the Chattogram metropolitan unit of the party.

A covered van had broken down on the GEC section of the flyover at night, said Chawkbazar Police chief Nur Hossain Mamun.

A motorcycle travelling towards Lalkhan Bazar rammed into the parked covered van from behind, he said.

Police rescued Faiyaz when the incident was reported and took him to Chattogram Medical College Hospital for treatment.
