Dhaka, March 16 -- Individual taxpayers will be able to apply online for more time to file their income tax returns, with the possibility of submitting them as late as June if the National Board of Revenue (NBR) approves the request.

The NBR had already extended the deadline for filing income tax returns for the 2025-26 assessment year to Mar 31.

In a notice issued on Monday, the tax authority said any individual taxpayer who applies online to the relevant tax commissioner before the deadline expires will be eligible for a further 90 days.

The NBR has also launched an online system to make the process of applying for extra time easier, faster, more transparent and more convenient.
