Musk, Altman back Anthropic chief's call to 'slow down' AI development
Bangladesh, Sept. 13 -- OpenAI CEO Sam Altman and xAI founder Elon Musk have backed Anthropic chief Dario Amodei's call to slow the pace of artificial intelligence development, amid growing concerns about the risks posed by increasingly capable AI systems.
Altman, in a post on X, said he agreed with Amodei that the development of frontier AI models needed to be paced more carefully.
"I agree with Dario that we need to pace the frontier. This has been a primary topic of discussions we've had at OpenAI in recent weeks," Altman wrote.
"Committing to having independent evaluators with employee-like access is a great idea, and we will do the same. We'll have more to share soon."
