MP Hannan Masud gave 'false' information in election affidavit, alleges BNP's Rashed
Dhaka, June 15 -- BNP leader Rashed Khan has alleged that Abdul Hannan Masud, the MP for Noakhali-6, gave false information in his election affidavit, and has questioned whether this could lead to the cancellation of his parliamentary seat.
In a Facebook post on Monday, Rashed said the Hatiya MP had admitted on a television talk show to including "inaccurate" details in his affidavit.
According to Rashed, Masud said his lawyer had advised him to file false information in the affidavit, arguing it would make things easier for future business dealings and tax returns.
Yet Masud has also claimed to own no immovable property, which, Rashed said, means his entire affidavit rests on "untrue claims".
