Dhaka, Oct. 4 -- A mother has filed a case against a teacher at the Old Dhaka campus of private Oxford International School, alleging that her daughter was confined to a classroom and subjected to physical and mental abuse.

Police said the teacher, Tasnim Azad Supti, has been on the run since the incident.

The school authorities have acknowledged the allegations and said they have already dismissed her.

The case filed with Gandaria Police states that the incident took place on Aug 30.

Two or three other people have also been named as unidentified suspects.

Police Sub-Inspector Sohanur Rahman of the prosecution section said the case documents reached the court on Sept 12.
