Bangladesh, July 7 -- A woman and her three-year-old son have died after a pickup van rammed the motorcycle they were riding.

The accident left the woman's husband injured.

Saiful Islam, chief of Birganj Police Station, said that the accident occurred around 5:30am on Monday on the Dinajpur-Thakurgaon Highway in the Pachpir area of Bhognagar Union.

The dead have been identified as 23-year-old Fahima and her son, Abdullah.

Police said that Fahima's husband, injured in the accident, is currently in critical condition and undergoing treatment.

Citing eyewitnesses, police officer Saiful said, "A pickup van struck the motorcycle from behind. As a result, Fahima, and their son, Abdullah, died on the spot."
