Bangladesh, July 27 -- Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) has claimed more than 200 US personnel were killed after Washington violated a memorandum of understanding (MoU) signed between the two countries.

IRGC spokesman Gen Hossein Mohebbi rejected US figures on casualties, calling them "a sheer lie" and accusing Washington of concealing the true death toll, according to Iran's semi-official Tasnim News Agency.

Mohebbi claimed Iranian forces struck eight US troop deployment centres during Operation Nasr II, which he described as Iran's response to US attacks over the past two weeks.

He said one strike alone destroyed 20 shelters and that the number of wounded was "much higher".
