Dhaka, Feb. 27 -- A moderate earthquake has struck Bangladesh, jolting Dhaka and several other parts of the country.
The tremor occurred at 1:52pm on Friday and measured 5.3 on the Richter scale, according to the United States Geological Survey (USGS).
The Bangladesh Meteorological Department said the epicentre was in the Ashashuni area of Satkhira.
The location is about 29.4km south-southeast of Satkhira district town and 26.2km southeast of Taki in India's West Bengal.
The quake originated at a depth of 9.8km below the surface.
