Dhaka, Sept. 27 -- At least nine people with measles symptoms have died across Bangladesh in the last 24 hours. During the same period, 1,155 people with measles symptoms have been admitted to hospitals, while 113 people tested positive for measles.

With this, the number of deaths of patients with measles symptoms has risen to 995 so far this year. A total of 196 people died after being confirmed to have measles.

According to a bulletin issued by the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) on Sunday, four people died in Dhaka Division, two in Sylhet, two in Chattogram and one in Mymensingh in the 24 hours from 8am Saturday.

Of the total deaths involving measles symptoms, the highest number, 448, was recorded in Dhaka Division.
