Dhaka, April 27 -- A man has died at Chattogram Medical College Hospital (CMCH) after being shot by unidentified assailants in Raozan.

The victim, identified only as Nasir, passed away on Sunday night while receiving treatment at the medical facility, according to Sub-Inspector Nure Alam Ashek of the CMCH Police Outpost.

The officer said the victim was admitted to Ward No. 2 via the emergency department before succumbing to his injuries.

The death marks the second fatal shooting in Raozan within a day.

Attackers opened fire on Nasir in South Shamsherpara of Kadalpur Union's Ward No. 6 on Sunday night.

Raozan Police chief Sajedul Islam told bdnews24.com that the assailants fired several rounds at the victim.
