Dhaka, March 21 -- A man has been killed after being called out from his house reportedly with promises of Eid-ul-Fitr reward in Shahjadpur Upazila of Sirajganj.

His body was recovered from a paddy field on Saturday morning, said Shahjadpur Police chief Saiful Islam.

Police said they have identifed the suspects and launched a manhunt.

Sohel Rana, 25, the victim, was the son of Azad Mandal of the Upazila. He was allegedly tricked into coming out of the house on Friday evening.

"The man never returned since then. But his body was spotted on a paddy field on Eid day," the officer Saiful said.

There were several bruises across his body, with the throat slit.
