Bangladesh, Sept. 2 -- A man has been hacked to death in Chattogram over what police describe as a "trivial incident."

The incident took place on Tuesday night in Ward No. 2 of Madhya Betagi in Rangunia Upazila.

The deceased was identified as Abdul Mannan, 60, a resident of the area.

Mohammad Belayet Hossain, assistant superintendent of police (Rangunia Circle), told bdnews24.com that Mannan had an argument with a neighbour named Mozammel on Tuesday afternoon. Later that night, Mozammel allegedly attacked Mannan with a sharp weapon and fled the scene.

"Relatives rescued Mannan and took him to Chattogram Medical College Hospital, where doctors declared him dead," ASP Belayet said.
