Dhaka, April 3 -- A man has been accused of hacking another man to death in Nilphamari's Sadar Upazila over conducting an "extramarital relationship" with his mother.

Although the alleged killer has fled, police have detained his mother, father, and brother.

The incident occurred at Kisamat Dogachi village in the Upazila's Tupamari Union around 10:30pm on Thursday, according to Faruk Ahmed, additional superintendent of police (Sadar Circle).

The deceased has been identified as 45-year-old Motiul Islam aka Motibul, a local resident. He leaves behind three daughters and a son.
