Malaysian police say suspected Bangladeshi man killed in hit and run
Dhaka, May 13 -- A 30-year-old man killed in a hit and run in western Malaysia's Klang is believed to be a Bangladeshi citizen, say local police.
Klang Utara police chief S Vijaya Rao said authorities suspect the victim was struck by a sport utility vehicle (SUV) around 3am on Wednesday, reports Bernama, Malaysia's national news agency.
"Preliminary investigations found that the incident occurred when a black SUV travelling from Klang towards Kapar was believed to have lost control before hitting a pedestrian on the roadside," Rao was quoted as saying.
"As a result of the impact, the man was thrown into a drain, while the driver fled the scene. The victim was confirmed dead at the scene due to severe abdominal injuries."
