Major shake-up looms at BSEC as government eyes new chief
Dhaka, May 15 -- The government is set to appoint a new chairman to the Bangladesh Securities and Exchange Commission (BSEC), with Masud Khan, chairman of Unilever Consumer Care, emerging as the strongest candidate to lead the capital market regulator.
Following the formation of the new government led by Tarique Rahman on Feb 17, discussions over a leadership change at the BSEC have intensified.
This move comes as the administration seeks to replace the current Chairman Khondoker Rashed Maqsood, who was appointed during the previous interim government.
