Dhaka, Feb. 28 -- Police have arrested the prime suspect along with one other person over the killing of a teenage girl in Madhabdi of Narsingdi, an incident investigators say was meant to suppress an earlier rape.

On Friday around 9pm, officers arrested one suspect from Maona in Gazipur and another from Gouripur in Mymensingh, Narsingdi Police Superintendent Md Abdullah Al Faruk said.

The arrestees are the main suspect Nur Mohammad alias Noora, 28, and Hazrat Ali, 40.

Earlier on Friday afternoon, Dhaka Range Deputy Inspector General Rezaul Karim Mallick reported the arrest of five suspects.

With these arrests, police have now held seven of the nine suspects in the case.
