Dhaka, May 6 -- The Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) has arrested a madrasa teacher accused of raping a 12-year-old female student in Netrokona's Madan Upazila.

The suspect, Aman Ullah, was arrested by members of Mymensingh RAB-14 from Gouripur, Mymensingh around 4:15am on Wednesday, said Madan Police chief Tariqul Islam.

He is a teacher at the Hazrat Fatematuzzahura Women's Qaumi Madrasa.

On Apr 23, the student's mother filed a case at the police station accusing Md Sagar and his brother Mamun Mia of raping the student.

The mother works as a domestic help in Sylhet. She got divorced with her husband. The child has been living with her maternal grandmother and studying in the madrasa.
