Dhaka, March 17 -- Police have arrested three people, including a madrasa superintendent, after a 10-year-old girl was allegedly raped in Kushtia's Bheramama Upazila.

She is currently being treated at the intensive care unit (ICU) of Rajshahi Medical College Hospital (RMCH).

Bheramama Police chief Md Zahedur Rahman said Saidur Rahman, the founder and superintendent of Zamilatunnesa Mohila Madrasa in Kuthibazar was arrested at a local mosque on Monday afternoon.

His wife and a female teacher were also arrested after the victim's mother sued all three of them.

Bheramama Upazila Health and Family Planning Officer Mizanur Rahman said the girl was brought to the healthcare facility unconscious on Sunday morning.
