Dhaka, March 4 -- At least two people have died after locals beat suspected thieves in Munshiganj's Louhajang.

They died while undergoing treatment at the Upazila health xomplex on Wednesday, said Louhaganj Police Station chief Md Monirul Islam.

They were caught by the public and beaten while attempting thefts in the Satgharia area on Tuesday night.

The dead were identified as Sagar, 32, and Sanarul, 34. They belonged to the river nomad community in Goali Mandra on Louhajang.

Locals said Sagar and Sanarul were caught on Tuesday night while attempting to steal electric wires from a clinic in Satgharia. They were allegedly detained along with the stolen cables, and locals beat them. At one stage, the two reportedly confessed to carrying...
