Dhaka, Oct. 1 -- LPG sellers face action for charging above Bangladesh Energy Regulatory Commission-set prices, the LPG Operators Association of Bangladesh (LOAB) has warned.

The warning comes amid complaints that 12kg cylinders are being sold for as much as Tk 2,300 against the official price of Tk 1,585.

In a statement on Thursday, LOAB said operators, distributors, dealers and retailers selling above the prescribed price or illegally stockpiling LPG would face action under existing law.

The association said imports and supply remained "satisfactory", with 156,000 metric tonnes imported in September, close to August's 158,000 tonnes.
