Dhaka, July 29 -- Bangladesh have appointed Litton Kumer Das as their new ODI captain, ending Mehidy Hasan Miraz's stint in charge.

BCB President Tamim Iqbal announced the decision at a press conference on Wednesday after a meeting of the board of directors, saying the move was driven by the vision of having one captain for both ODIs and T20Is.

The leadership change comes despite Bangladesh having no ODI fixtures scheduled in the immediate future.

Changes have also been made to Bangladesh's vice-captaincy.

Najmul Hossain Shanto, who served as Mehidy Hasan Miraz's deputy in ODIs, has been replaced by Towhid Hridoy.

Hridoy is now vice-captain in both white-ball formats.
