Dhaka, March 4 -- The Bangladesh government has called on the country to be economical in its energy use as the ongoing unrest in the Middle East has disrupted global energy supplies.
Instructions have also been given to avoid unnecessary use of lighting and for people to use public transport instead of private cars to conserve fuel.
The guidance came in a media statement from the Ministry of Power, Energy and Mineral Resources on Wednesday.
The statement said that due to the conflict in the Middle East, there is uncertainty about the supply of energy in the expected amount and at the scheduled time from various possible sources.
