Dhaka, Oct. 8 -- Leftist political parties and organisations are holding a demonstration outside the Invest Bangladesh offices ahead of an agreement that gives Dubai-based company DP World approval to take over operations of the New Mooring Container Terminal (NCT) at Chittagong Port.

Protesters chanted slogans and made speeches denouncing the agreement during the programme in Agargaon on Thursday afternoon.

The participants include the Bangladesh Samajtantrik Dal (BaSaD), Democratic Revolutionary Party, Bangladesh JaSaD, BaSaD (Marxist), Bangladesh Samyabadi Andolon, Anti-Imperialist and Anti-War Alliance, Democratic Student Alliance and Democratic Rights Committee.
