Dhaka, May 3 -- A Supreme Court lawyer has filed a writ petition with the High Court seeking Tk 5 million in compensation from Ifad Motors Ltd after suffering fractured ribs in a road crash involving a double-decker Saintmartin Paribahan bus owned by the company.

Md Bahauddin Al Imran filed the petition on Sunday.

The petition also seeks an order cancelling the route permit and licence of the "unauthorised" double-decker bus involved in the accident.

The respondents include the home secretary, the road transport and bridges secretary, the inspector general of police, the chief of Highway Police, the chairman of the Bangladesh Road Transport Authority (BRTA), and the secretary of the Bangladesh Sleeper AC Bus Owners Association.
