Dhaka, March 28 -- Amina Ahmad, a veteran of the 1952 Language Movement and a prominent organiser of the Liberation War, has died at the age of 91.
She passed on around 11am on Saturday at Evercare Hospital in Dhaka, her daughter Ivy Ahmad said.
Amina was the wife of the late Prof Mozzaffar Ahmad, the president of the National Awami Party (Pro-Moscow faction) and a member of the advisory council of the Liberation War-time government in exile.
Family members said she will be buried later in the evening at Elahabad village in Cumilla's Debidwar, beside the grave of her husband.
She served as a member of the NAP presidium and was a former member of parliament, having held a reserved seat in 2009 and 2014.
