Bangladesh, Aug. 12 -- Khulna University has formed a five-member investigation committee to look into allegations that some of its teachers were involved in a secret effort to bring back ousted prime minister Sheikh Hasina from India.

The university issued an office order signed by acting Registrar Prof SM Mahbubur Rahman on Monday, directing the panel to complete its investigation and submit a detailed report within a month.

The order said reports from media outlets and sources had claimed that 404 teachers from 22 public universities were involved in a secret initiative to bring Hasina back to Bangladesh.

The committee has been formed to determine if any Khulna University teachers were involved in such an effort.
