Bangladesh, July 31 -- Professor Rezaul Islam of the Agrotechnology Discipline at Khulna University has been dismissed from his job after allegations of sexual harassment against him were found to be substantiated.

The decision was made at the university's 237th Syndicate meeting on Thursday, according to Acting Registrar Prof SM Mahbubur Rahman.

He said, "The Syndicate has decided to dismiss Prof Rezaul from his position. The meeting also decided that this decision will be communicated to all public and private universities, as well as other similar institutions across the country."

Allegation of sending indecent messages to a female student has been raised against the teacher in June.
