Dhaka, June 21 -- Members of the Awami League's affiliate organisation, the Jubo League, have brought out a procession in Gazipur to mark the party's founding anniversary.

A video of alleged threats issued to police from the procession circulated widely on social media on Sunday.

Bason Police chief Harunur Rashid said, "We have seen the video. It is being verified whether this is a recent incident or from earlier."

In the footage, several activists are heard shouting at police personnel: "Hey, don't come forward. Don't you come forward at all. We will kill you."

The procession took place around 6:30am near the Columbia Garments under Bason Police Station.
