Dhaka, March 12 -- Just hours after a wedding, the groom and his newlywed bride set out to return home with family members. They had travelled a long stretch from Khulna's Koyra Upazila and reached Rampal in Bagerhat when a devastating accident struck, claiming the lives of the couple and their relatives.

A head-on collision between a Navy bus and the microbus carrying the groom, bride, and family members killed 14 people on Thursday, with seven of the dead from the same family.

Local BNP leaders said the microbus carried relatives who had travelled to Koyra to celebrate the wedding.
