Bangladesh, July 5 -- A police complaint in the form of a general diary (GD) has been lodged against journalist Anis Alamgir, TV host Soma Islam, and model-lawyer Jannatul Ferdous Peya for allegedly making "objectionable" comments and spreading "disinformation" over the July Uprising on social media.

The complaint also names three others, including two models and an actress.

Shahbagh Police recorded the complaint on Saturday night, according to Sub-Inspector (SI) Majibul Alam, the station's duty officer.

The officer said the complaint was lodged by Millat Hossain, a member of an organisation named "Rashtra Songlap Forum" (State Dialogue Forum).
