Indian national to be grilled for 'espionage'
Dhaka, Oct. 1 -- An Indian national accused of trying to send sensitive state documents and photographs of key government sites to a foreign intelligence agency has been placed on seven-day remand in Dhaka.
A court granted custody for interrogation on Thursday after police sought more time to question the man, Rabiul Islam, over the alleged espionage activities.
Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Md Sefatullah issued the order on Thursday after the Dhaka Metropolitan Police Detective Branch (DB) requested a 10-day extension to interrogate the suspect.
Rabiul was initially detained on Sept 22 in Uttara on suspicion of involvement in sabotage activities.
