Dhaka, June 10 -- Indian Home Minister Amit Shah has launched the Land Port Management System (LPMS), a centralised digital platform to modernise operations across the country's land ports by integrating cargo, passenger and vehicle processing on a single interface, the Hindustan Times reports.

Named Vinimay, the platform is a key component of Narendra Modi government's four-pronged Smart Border initiatives.

It is expected to help significantly reduce paperwork, waiting times, and improve coordination among border agencies.
