Dhaka, March 22 -- India has extended $6.5 billion in assistance to Bangladesh since 2014 through two major Lines of Credit (LoC), according to Kirti Vardhan Singh, the country's state minister for external affairs.
He made the remarks in a written reply to a question in the Lok Sabha, the lower house of India's parliament, on Friday.
"India's approach to relations with Bangladesh is neighbourhood-driven and people-centric," he said.
He added that New Delhi had supported a range of development initiatives in Bangladesh through LoCs, grants for projects, high-impact community development projects, humanitarian assistance, disaster relief and capacity-building programmes.
