Dhaka, March 20 -- Prime Minister Tarique Rahman has conveyed his Eid-ul-Fitr greetings to the people in Bangladesh and Muslims around the world.
In a message issued on Friday, the prime minister wished "Eid Mubarak" to all, saying: "I convey my heartfelt good wishes and Eid Mubarak to the people of the country and Muslims across the world."
He expressed hope that Eid-ul-Fitr would strengthen national unity, communal harmony, empathy and social bonds.
"Let's work together to create a humanitarian, developed, peaceful and prosperous Bangladesh."
In his message, the prime minister stressed that the spirit of Ramadan lay in "restraint, sacrifice, service and self-purification".
