ICT summons Ekattor TV broadcast licence in probe into 'Shapla Chattar killings'
Dhaka, June 10 -- The International Crimes Tribunal (ICT) has summoned the broadcast licence and relevant documentation of private television station Ekattor TV in connection with a case involving alleged crimes against humanity during Hifazat-e Islam's 2013 gathering at Motijheel Shapla Chattar.
Mozammel Haque Babu, the former managing director of Ekattor Media Limited, and Farzana Rupa, the channel's former principal correspondent, are accused in the case.
In line with the investigation's requirements, the ICT investigation agency sent a formal letter to the office of Ekattor TV's chief executive officer (CEO) on Monday.
The letter, signed by the agency's co-coordinator Muhammed Shahidullah Chowdhury, came to light on Wednesday.
