Dhaka, Oct. 31 -- The results of this year's Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) and equivalent examinations have been published, with the overall pass rate sliding to 52.12 percent.

That is 6.71 percentage points lower than last year's 58.83 percent.

Education Minister ANM Ehsanul Hoque Milon formally announced the results at the Secretariat on Saturday.

The exams began on Jul 2 at 2,697 centres nationwide, with 1,240,798 candidates taking part.

Last year's figure, recorded under the interim government, covered the nine general education boards, the madrasa board and the technical board.

In 2024, the pass rate stood at 77.78 percent.

A total of 40,084 students have secured GPA-5 as they prepare to move on to university.
