Dhaka, April 23 -- The emergency department of Chattogram Medical College Hospital (CMCH) has been vandalised following the deaths of two labourers after soil collapse at a Water Supply and Sewerage Authority (WASA) sewerage project.
Angry workers smashed the glass entrance of the emergency unit around 8:45am on Thursday.
Police have since detained six individuals from the scene in connection with the unrest.
The disturbance follows a fatal incident at 4am near Agrabad Access Road, where two workers were killed and two others injured after being buried under falling earth.
The casualties were rushed to CMCH, where a confrontation broke out between the labourers and representatives of the project's contractor.
