Dhaka, April 30 -- The High Court has granted bail to Sk Tasnim Afroz Emi, former vice-president of Dhaka University's Shamsun Nahar Hall Students' Union, in a case filed under the Anti-Terrorism Act over the playing of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman's historic Mar 7 speech.

The order was passed on Thursday by a High Court bench comprising Justice KM Zahid Sarwar and Justice Sheikh Abu Taher.

Emi was detained on the night of Mar 7 while playing the speech outside Shahbagh Police Station in the capital.

The following day, on Mar 8, Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Jewel Rana sent Emi and two others to jail after showing them arrested in the case.
