Bangladesh, Sept. 6 -- The High Court has granted bail to Bangladesh Sammilita Sanatani Jagaran Jote spokesman Chinmoy Krishna Das Brahmachari in two cases over vandalism and obstructing police.

The bench of Justice KM Zahid Sarwar and Justice Sheikh Abu Taher passed the order on Sunday, making absolute a rule earlier issued on the bail question.

The same bench had previously cleared him for bail on Aug 3 in two other cases involving vandalism, attack and obstruction of government duty.

Lawyers said Chinmoy cannot be released yet because several other cases against him are still pending.

His lawyer Apurba Kumar Bhattacharya said Chinmoy faces six criminal cases in total and has now secured High Court bail in four.
