Dhaka, March 11 -- A court in Bogura has granted bail to popular content creator Ashraful Alom, widely known as Hero Alom, in a legal battle involving allegations of rape and physical assault.

Judge Anwarul Haque of the Women and Children Repression Prevention Tribunal-2 passed the order on Wednesday afternoon, said Prosecution Police Inspector Shahidul Islam.

He was arrested in a place near the Shajahanpur Police Station on the Dhaka-Bogura Highway on Feb 19, nine days after a court order for his arrest over "rape" and "repression" of a woman.

The allegations stem from a complaint filed on May 6 last year by a woman who accused Alom and five others of different offences.
