Heavy rain set to lash Bangladesh as landslide risk grows in hill districts
Bangladesh, July 9 -- Bangladesh is likely to experience heavy to very heavy rainfall for another one to two days under the influence of a low-pressure system and the active monsoon, the Met Office says.
The downpours could trigger landslides in the hill districts, where continuous rainfall over recent days has already loosened the soil, meteorologist Abdul Hamid told bdnews24.com.
According to the Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD), the well-marked low over the Bay of Bengal has moved to northwestern Madhya Pradesh and adjoining areas of India.
